The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.
Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
Listed below are the documents/or copies of what we have seen on listing this yacht.

This boat is now really well equipped to carry on for many years, cruising the Med or going further afield. We sailed her from Plymouth in 2006, and have thoroughly enjoyed cruising France, Portugal, Spain, the Balearics, the Ionian, the Dodecanese and Turkey. Anything needing replacement or serviced we have carried out ourselves or by professionals.
A very genuine sale, due to current ill health earlier this year. She is a very comfortable liveaboard boat, 6ft 5in height throughout and huge amount of space below with loads of teak and ample storage. Island Packets are world renowned for their solid and well built heavy displacement construction, making them extremely stable but they are definitely not slow with their cleverly designed aerofoil shaped long keel. She did the ARC with the previous owner in 2000, and most years in our ownership we have spent 10 to 12 very happy weeks aboard, often with family and friends. She is much admired wherever she goes.
Accommodation with 2 doubles and 2 heads allows friends or family to join the boat with each having their own space. The saloon bench seat on starboard side pulls out for an occasional double and the port side with lee cloths (included) can also be a single berth. We have had 7 sleeping on board. However, she is the perfect cruising boat for one or two couples.
My insurance Company requested (for the first time) a survey in 2020. Copy available on request. Since that survey we have had new dinghy and outboard, new fridge, new winches and sheets and halyards, new staysail and staysail furling gear, new Peter Saunders Genoa, new macerator pump and new LJ Boom Cover.
Improvements/investment made during 20yr ownership.

In 2014 Aquashaft replaced.
2014 New 4 blade feathering propeller fitted, called a Featherstream , made especially for Alethia by Darglow in Dorset. For some unknown reason the previous autoprop did not work well with the new engine. Featherstream works very well. Always regreased each year.
